“It was a pleasure working with Missy. One of the most down to earth and genuine person we had worked with. Missy is truly a professional and takes pride into her work. ”
I have been able to design and install murals all over California from logo designs to large-scale atmospheric pieces on all types of surfaces. I have an abundance of experience and knowledge working with a variety of material and construction practices.
My professional training is in design and illustration from Pratt Institute in New York. My senior thesis incorporated large-scale painted portraits, which set the stage for my work in the years since.
Over the last year, I was commissioned to do two graphic pieces over 3000 sq ft each, depicting national parks.
I create all of the designs and performed all of the installation myself. Because I love to rock climb, I am also very happy high on a ladder or hanging on a scaffold.
Eco Friendly
*I am very committed to sustainable practices, being very conscious to create minimal waste (little or no taping for straight lines), reusing as much as possible, and using quality materials in order to ensure lasting work with minimal impact on the environment.

Fun Fact
You might recognize Half Dome and El Captain, but there are many other structures from Yosemite in this mural; including, Cathedral Spires and The Royal Arches in Yosemite Valley, and Cathedral Peak, Eichorn Pinnacle, Matthes Crest, Tenaya Peak and Tenaya Lake in Tuolumne Meadows.
It’s a big week in San Francisco, starting the renovations for this Cow Hollow residential building with a 54’ foot mural.
When it comes to muraling and waste, I try to tread as lightly as possible. I would hate to throw a ball of tape the size of a cow into the trash, so I freehand the lines. Tape bleeds especially on an uneven wall like this, so I’d likely have to touch the whole thing again anyway. Fortunately, I have a pretty steady hand. Also note fashionable new respirator.
On a tight schedule, I had my good friend who is an artist and my very artistic husband help with the fills.
The rest of the building is getting an upgrade as well… carpet, light fixtures, ceiling, tile. I’m looking forward to seeing the final product. The owners were fantastic!
We are on a tight timeline, if only I could clone myself…..
… much better.

Blueprint designs for the Joshua Tree Mural
Fun Fact
Since the mural is in a climbing gym and Joshua Tree is an international destination for climbers, all of the structures in the painting are famous climbs; including boulders and cracks. It you want to scavenger hunt - here's what you will find: Gunsmoke, Streetcar Named Desire, Intersection Rock, Walk on the Wild Side (a Costa Mesa favorite), White Rastafarian (including that dangerous boulder in the landing area), Sail Away, and The Eye.
Fun Fact
Joshua Tree flora and fauna are mixed into the mural, some obvious like the iconic Joshua Trees and some sort of hidden such as a Kangaroo Rat, Coyote, Tarantula and a tortoise.
